About James

Having been accepted as a member of Saracens Wheelchair Rugby Club means more to me than any personal statement can ever express. I travel a distance and have it said to me so often that I am ‘so committed‘ because I travel by train on a weekly basis which takes me from leaving my house at around 7:30 am arriving back home after training at approx 8-8:30pm. This to the majority is a long day however for me it is worth every hour because being part of Saracens Wheelchair Rugby Club is more than just about the sport.

For me it is about the entire atmosphere that the club brings. I live on my own and have very little to do with any family and don’t have any local interaction with friends. So for me that is what Saracens Wheelchair Rugby Club gives me: that social interaction and in fact that feeling of ‘family’. I have played many sports from wheelchair tennis to wheelchair basketball and have never experienced anything like what being a member of Saracens Wheelchair Rugby Club brings to me.
